Gift drive provides opportunity to give back to those locally in need
Mattapoisett, MA – December 6, 2011 - Fellowship Health Resources, Inc. (FHR) is hosting a benefit drive at the Kinsale Inn at 35 Water Street in Mattapoisett on Thursday, December 8, from 5-11 p.m. Donations made at this event, as well as throughout the month of December, will benefit FHR persons served in the New Bedford Region.
“The ‘Give A Gift’ event provides a sense of belonging and allows our members to feel like someone really does care about them,” expressed Co-Team Leader Angela Schroeder. “The Kinsale Inn has been kind enough to help us organize a drive so that we can make the holidays a little more cheerful for those who may not have any family and would not receive any gifts otherwise.”
FHR staff members are asking anyone interested in donating to bring unwrapped gifts appropriate for adult men and women to the drive. Community members may also contact the New Bedford Regional Office at 552 County Street to donate before or after this event. Gift ideas include all sorts of clothing, watches, phone cards, coats, hats, gloves, or gift cards to local grocery stores and shopping malls.
“The holidays can be hard,” Schroeder says. “We do as much as we can every year, and the help from the community is greatly appreciated.”
