FHR’s Corporate Director of Peer Recovery Services to serve on MassHealth board

Boston, MA – February 19, 2013Bob Rousseau, Corporate Director of Peer Recovery Services at FHR (Fellowship Health Resources), a mental health and substance addiction agency, has been selected to serve on the Implementation Council for the Massachusetts Duals Demonstration.

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), also known as MassHealth, has developed this program to coordinate the distribution and financing of individuals 21 through 64 qualifying for both Medicare and Medicaid services. According to MassHealth, these individuals, known as dual eligibles, will benefit from the Duals Demonstration, which will focus on the improvement of quality of care, reduction in health disparities, advancement of health and functional outcomes, and containing health care costs.

Rousseau, one of 21 individuals selected for this new committee, will play a vital role in overseeing access to health care and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Representing the diverse community affected, the committee consists of consumers, as well as representatives of advocacy organizations, service providers, and unions.

“This council is the first unfolding of the Affordable Care Act,” Rousseau explained. “I am honored to be able to participate in this historic change in the delivery of health care services.”

The Implementation Council will begin meeting in February and serve through December 2016.
