Published 02/20/2018

We were proud to take part in the 2018 DMH Southeast Citizen Legislative Breakfast, an opportunity to highlight the importance of mental health services in assisting individuals with mental illness in their recovery.

“I strongly believe that collectively, all of our missions are to inspire all to unmask the stigma of mental illness simply by fostering hope for recovery,” said Robert Ortiz, FHR Director of Peer Recovery Services, NE, as he addressed the room full of individuals and families receiving services, as well as advocates and providers.

Highlights of the day included:
- Ortiz co-hosting the morning’s program
- The Unmasking the Stigma of Mental Illness Exhibit on display, created by individuals in FHR’s Therapeutic Respite Program
- Speaking with Senator Mike Moore about FHR’s Peer Recovery Services
- Meeting with Representative James Cantwell
