FHR’s creative recovery program invites the community for an evening of fun at the Celtic Coffee House in New Bedford
New Bedford, MA – March 5, 2012 - Fellowship Health Resources, Inc. (FHR) will host a “Celtic Coffee House Fundraiser” on Friday, March 9, from 7-10 p.m. at the Celtic Coffee House, 42 North Water Street. This event will benefit Studio 35, FHR’s agency-wide healing arts and music recovery program.
Studio 35 represents FHR’s commitment to deliver creative programming to its community-based mental health services. “Studio 35 adds a more spirit-based, creative aspect to traditional clinical programs,” says Director of Peer Recovery Services Bob Rousseau.
The event on March 9 will gather initial funding for Studio 35 activities, specifically in the New Bedford Region. “We’re hosting the evening at the Celtic Coffee House because we have a long-standing relationship with them,” says Rousseau. “They are very supportive and encouraging of FHR and the work that we do.”
Live musical entertainment will be provided by The Dave Richardson Band. This funky jazz and soul band features one of FHR’s lead clinicians, Dave Richardson. Original artwork created by Studio 35 artists will be on display and available for purchase. “Art proceeds go directly to the artists themselves,” explains Rousseau. “When they sell something that they made, it really helps to improve their self-esteem.”
For twenty dollars, a Celtic Coffee House ticket allows access to the live music room and art gallery, as well as a meal of Shepherd’s Pie, Clam Chowder and Irish Soda Bread. Beverages will be available for purchase from the Celtic Coffee House. Alcoholic beverages, although not for sale, may be brought to this event.
Additionally, attendees will be entered in a door prize, and may also choose to enter three different raffles, including prizes such as a “Wines of the World” basket, a 50/50 raffle, and a Celtic Coffee House gift basket.
To purchase tickets, please contact Kim Mello at 508-789-6232 or Bob Rousseau at 774-634-7976.
