A series of weekly art exhibits demonstrate creativity during the Mental Health Awareness Month
Phoenixville, PA – May 16, 2012 – Members of Fellowship Health Resources, Inc. (FHR) share their creative talents at different locations around the Phoenixville community. These “Arts in Recovery” exhibits are part of Studio 35, FHR’s creative arts and music recovery program, and support Mental Health America’s “May is Mental Health Month” initiative. The nationwide, month-long celebration aims to promote mental wellness for all.
FHR Pennsylvania shared their talents at an art show at the Daniel J. Detwiler YMCA, in Phoenixville during the week of May 7. With a membership of over 32,000 people, this YMCA is a very busy place. Staff report how lucky they were to have this exhibit in the main lobby, where they received an extensive flow of foot traffic. Many community members, both young and old, stopped to view individual pieces. The positive feedback included how impressed people were with the art work.
All in all, it was another busy week and a wonderful opportunity to create awareness during Mental Health Month. For more information about these exhibits, please contact Janet Stanley at 610-415-9301.
